The District is excited to announce the implementation of a personalized learning plan for the 2016-17 school year. A three-year plan including device procurement and professional development was approved by the Board of Education. Not only will there be professional development for staff, but the District will also have training sessions available for students and parents on proper use of the device –including internet safety. The initial phase will encompass grades K-8 in 2016-17 with grades 9-12 in 2018-19.
The School District of Marshfield has always strived to provide an environment that maximizes student potential and feels this is one more way to do so.
What does personalized learning mean? The International Association for K-12 Online Learning website defines Personalized Learning as “tailoring learning for each student’s strengths, needs and interests–including enabling student voice and choice in what, how, when and where they learn–to provide flexibility and supports to ensure mastery of the highest standards possible.”
